Huawei has announced that their 7-inch MediaPad will be one of the first Android tablets to ship with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed, and the availability of the new MediaPad Color series in shadow black, classic brown, and passion pink. The 7-inch MediaPad was the first tablet to ship with Honeycomb 3.2, so Huawei is no stranger to getting things updated in a timely fashion. Both the MediaPad and MediaPad Color come with a Qualcomm dual-core 1.2GHz processor and a 1280 x 800 pixels 217 PPI screen supporting 1080P Full HD video playback. Battery life is estimated at six hours or longer.
Expect the MediaPad with Ice Cream Sandwich, and the MediaPad Color (with Android 3.2) to arrive in select markets in the first quarter of this year, and existing MediaPad owners should also get an OTA update to Android 4.0 in Q1. The full press release is after the break.
