2011 Nissan Quest minivan helps find the strip club after dropping off the kids

The 2011 model year represents an all-new generation of the Nissan Quest. It's a stylish people hauler that should spice up the competition among industry heavyweights like the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and Chrysler Town & Country.

It may also be popular with entertainment-seeking grown-ups. We're not talking about concerts or sporting events, but rather the type of windowless entertainment facilities that require a trip to the ATM beforehand... and then another trip a few songs later. Yes, as you see above, an "Adult Entertainment" category is part of the Quest navigation system's POI database. This functionality may, in fact, be included in other Nissan and/or Infiniti products - or GPS systems from other automakers - but this is the first time we've seen it anywhere.

In any case, this proves that the 2011 Nissan Quest isn't just a capable kid-hauler - it's equally qualified for bachelor party duty. Thanks for the tip, Keith!

Oprah may have given away a whole fleet of 2012 Volkswagen Beetles on her TV show, but now VW is partnering with Gilt.com to offer its 2011 Jetta sedan up at a very, very low price. The new Jetta has just landed at dealerships around the country, priced from $15,995, but Volkswagen will be giving away three Jettas to members of the Gilt flash sale site for $10,000 less than the normal starting price. That's right, a brand new Jetta for under $6,000.

A total of three Jettas will be given away, starting on Wednesday of this week (one car per day). On December 15 this special offer will only be available to Gilt members with the mobile application (iPad, iPhone, Android, etc.), and the remaining two Jettas can be had by the full raft of Gilt members.

If you've ever thought about joining Gilt, now's the time - there could be a 2011 Jetta in your future. For the full details, hit the jump to read Volkswagen's press release.

Ham radio geekery fixes Chevy Camaro Convertible's antenna [w/video]

When General Motors showed some hardcore Camaro fans an early version of the convertible, they apparently received some less-than-favorable feedback. It turns out the Camaro faithful weren't all that smitten with the old-fashion whip antenna (not to be confused with the shark fin antenna for XM satellite radio and OnStar transmissions) protruding out of the topless muscle car's boot. The retro antenna was deemed to be a necessary evil due to the fact that, like most new vehicles, the hardtop Camaro hides the antenna in the rear window. And we all know that just won't work if the rear window can be stowed with the rest of the top, so engineers and designers had no choice, right? Well, as it turns out there was an option B.

The General turned to Antenna Performance Engineer Don Hibbard, a "lifelong Ham radio enthusiast," to shed the ungainly appendage. This was no easy task, though, as GM insisted that whatever the solution, it needed to perform every bit as well as the unit embedded in the hardtop's rear glass. To make matters a bit more interesting, Hibbard and his colleague, Gregg Kittinger, didn't exactly have all the time in the world to get the job done.

In a span of only 10 months, Hibbard was able to work some magic. The new Camaro Convertible will feature an AM/FM antenna that is built into the Camaro's rear spoiler. The embedded receiver will reportedly work as well as the rear window antenna from the hardtop, but without the retro eyesore. Now, if only they cold solve for the awkward trunklid combo of the CHMSL, satellite radio and lip spoiler...

Hit the jump to check out a video of GM's clever antenna solution and to check out the official press release.

Firefox 4 Awesome Bar gets a bit of Googleesque 'Instant' magic

Mozilla Labs Prospector, Instant Preview
Muddying the waters with yet another 'Instant' product, and with only one letter differentiating it from one of Google's new features, Mozilla Labs has just launched the next step in the Prospector experiment: Instant Preview. Now, as you scroll through possible results in your Awesome Bar, the target page will begin to load. Instead of having to guess if it's the right page, you'll be able to glance down and check... instantly!

Mozilla Labs points out that you can also use it for 'temporal' information, such as weather and stocks news, or a Web comic. Type the first two letters of your favorite comic into the Awesome Bar, and the comic automatically loads. Read it, then simply press Esc and the Web page you were looking at before instantly re-appears.

Of course, you could use the same technique to check Download Squad regularly, too.
